Blankingship & Keith Announces Robert J. Stoney’s Selection to Virginia Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Blankingship & Keith is pleased to announce that Robert J. Stoney has been named to the Virginia Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame Class of 2026, an honor recognizing attorneys who have practiced for 30 years or more and made lasting contributions to the legal profession across the Commonwealth.
Rob’s practice focuses on major automobile, commercial truck, and bus crashes, product liability, wrongful death, and traumatic brain injury cases. He is known for maintaining a deliberately small docket so he and his team can devote their full attention to clients facing life-changing injuries and loss. Rob’s clients are often individuals and families whose lives have been upended by the carelessness of others, and his approach is grounded in urgency, focus, and respect for the people he represents.
Rob’s selection to the Hall of Fame also reflects his long-standing service to the profession and to access-to-justice initiatives. He has served on the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners, including the Character and Fitness Committee, and has held leadership roles with the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Legal Services of Virginia, and multiple Virginia State Bar and Virginia Bar Association pro bono initiatives. He has also devoted thousands of hours to pro bono and legal aid work, and through his efforts with Trial Lawyers Still Care, he hasencourage Virginia trial lawyers to take deserving cases and support legal aid for the poor.
Rob is a graduate of the University of Virginia and William & Mary School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served on the Board of Editors of the William & Mary Law Review. Among other recognitions, he has been named Best Lawyers in America Lawyer of the Year in Products Liability Litigation–Plaintiffs in 2013, 2017, and 2021, has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2003, and was recognized in Virginia Super Lawyers Top 100 in 2025.
The Virginia Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame honors members of Virginia’s legal community whose career accomplishments, contributions to the profession, service to the bar and the Commonwealth, and efforts to improve access to justice have left a lasting mark on the law in Virginia.
The Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be honored on April 30, 2026, in Richmond.
