Bill Porter to Lead Blankingship & Keith

bill-porter-headshotBlankingship & Keith, P.C. announced that William B. Porter has been named managing principal of the firm. Porter succeeds William Carey who served in the role from 2014 through 2015.

As managing principal, Porter will provide strategic leadership and direction, overseeing client, recruiting and community initiatives for the firm. Porter, who joined the firm in 1997 after a judicial clerkship, will continue to represent corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of civil and commercial matters. He has appeared in proceedings before the state courts of every jurisdiction in Northern Virginia, in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Columbia, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as managing principal,” said Porter. “With a combination of seasoned veterans and a new generation of dynamic attorneys, Blankingship & Keith is extremely well-positioned to service the legal needs of our clients and our community.”

He graduated with honors from George Mason University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. After law school he clerked for the Honorable Arthur B. Vieregg of the Fairfax County Circuit Court.
