Family Law Legal Assistant
Blankingship & Keith, PC, a 45 lawyer Fairfax City law firm, has an opportunity for an experienced legal administrative assistant with demonstrable litigation, technical and administrative skills to support attorneys in the Family Law practice by maintaining and processing case information, managing the progression of cases to final disposition, creating electronic files, preparing and processing transcription, correspondence, memoranda and complex legal documents, and performing other administrative functions.
Litigation responsibilities include preparing documents for state and federal court filings, including discovery requests and responses, letters, pleadings, motions, and documents, as well as e-filing in various state and federal courts. Administrative duties include scheduling meetings and appointments, maintaining attorney calendars and contact information, new client intake, time entry and billing, file maintenance utilizing the firm's electronic records management system, and travel coordination and expense reimbursement.
Qualified applicants must possess strong communication, organizational, and client service skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment with accurate spelling, grammar, and proofreading. Experience transcribing is a plus.
This position requires a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with e-filing, document management and time and billing systems is required.
