Petula Cherise Metzler graduated from the Catholic University Columbus School of Law in May 2004. She received her B.A. degree, with distinction, in English from George Mason University in 1994. Immediately prior to joining Blankingship & Keith, she served a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Lon E. Farris at the Prince William Circuit Court. During her second year of law school, Petula interned with the Honorable John W. Scott, Jr. at the Fredericksburg Circuit Court.
As a first-year law student, Petula was the recipient of the Child Advocacy Fellowship, a scholarship awarded based on demonstrated efforts on behalf of children. Petula has been a foster parent in Stafford County and is a veteran of the United States Army. During her military service and in addition to her regular duties, Petula served as her unit’s armorer, a position wherein she was responsible for the security and maintenance of her unit’s weapons. Petula has also worked as a hospice volunteer providing in-home practical care to the terminally ill.
Petula practices land use and development, eminent domain, local government law and real estate litigation.
